The Witches (1990) is a comedy horror film based upon the book by Roald Dahl and directed by Nicolas Roeg.
DADDY: What did you think of the movie?
LILLY: It was fantastic. I loved that they turned children into mice.
DADDY: I thought it was great too and it is one of my favourite stories by Roald Dahl.
DADDY: Who was your favourite character?
LILLY: I liked the nice witch.
DADDY: I don't remember her in the book so the little boy has to stay being a mouse.
LILLY: That's terrible.
DADDY: I liked the grandmother because she was pretty cool for an old lady and the Grand High Witch.
LILLY: Yes she was Morticia.
DADDY: The actress is called Anjelica Huston. I think she is awesome but don't tell mum.
LILLY: OK...
DADDY: What was your favourite moment?
LILLY: I liked the moment when you saw the Grand High Witch's real face.
DADDY: I liked that too and when the boys were turned into mice.
LILLY: Yeah.
DADDY: Would you recommend this to your friends?
LILLY: Yes because it is just as scary as it should be.
DADDY: Do you know that Roald Dahl also wrote Charlie And The Chocolate Factory?
LILLY: Yes he is a great writer.
LILLY: Can I give this ten stars?
DADDY: You know it and I will too because it is a great film.
DADDY: You should look out for women who act like you smell funny and cackling is a sure sign they are witches too.
LILLY: Yes, witches think children smell like dogs droppings!
