DADDY: What did you think of the movie?
LILLY: It was great but I didn't like Sinbad, he just looked like an American.
DADDY: Yeah it's all about the monsters.
LILLY: Well sort of but Sinbad is the main character.
DADDY: Who was your favourite character?
LILLY: I liked the princess.
DADDY: You always like the princess!
LILLY: So? She was pretty.
DADDY: I liked the cyclops. I thought he was awesome.
LILLY: He was a bit weird.
DADDY: So am I.
DADDY: What was your favourite moment?
LILLY: When the princess became small.
DADDY: That was pretty cool but I liked the fight with the skeleton best. I love skeletons.
DADDY: Would you recommend this to your friends?
LILLY: No because I didn't like the main character.
DADDY: But you still liked the monsters?
LILLY: Yeah well sort off.
DADDY: I'm giving this four and a half stars because it isn't my favourite Sinbad movie but it is still rather good.
LILLY: I'm giving it three.
DADDY: Only three?
LILLY: Yeah and only because I liked the princess and the monsters.
I was lucky enough to see this on the big screen in a revival house when I was about Lilly's age, and although the snake woman completely and utterly freaked me out, I loved the movie and it was my introduction to the magic of Harryhausen. Your daughter's lucky to have a dad like you, Mark!
