The Karate Kid (1984)

The Karate Kid (1991) is a romantic martial arts film directed by John G. Avildsen and written by Robert Mark Karmen. A young student moves to California with his mother where he finds romance but falls foul of the local karate students. He is befriended by his apartments handyman who teaches him karate and valuable life lessons.

DADDY: What did you think of the movie?

LILLY: I thought it was fantastic.

DADDY: It took you a bit to get into the story.

LILLY: Yes.

DADDY: I don't think you knew what all that sanding and waxing cars was all about.

LILLY: Wax on, wax off!

DADDY: Who was your favourite character?

LILLY: Mr. Miyagi (Noriyuki "Pat" Morita) because he's smart and funny and he also got his house painted for free.

DADDY: Me too, Miyagi is cool but a little sad and lonely too.

LILLY: Yes he was.

DADDY: What was your favourite moment?

LILLY: The fight at the end when Daniel (Ralph Macchio) wins.

DADDY: Yeah it's great.

DADDY: Would you recommend it to your friends?

LILLY: Yes because it is funny and makes you want to learn karate.

DADDY: Yeah but I think your dojo is much better than the Cobra Kai.

LILLY: So do I!

DADDY: How many stars would you give it.

LILLY: I'm giving it twenty five.

DADDY: Me too.

LILLY: Can I watch the second one?

DADDY: Hai Lilly-san.

LILLY: LOL.
